HELLO!
I’m Kaly Hoemkhuntod, a multidisciplinary creative based in Oklahoma City and Northern Virginia, working across design, film, and visual storytelling.
I graduated with a BFA in Visual Communication and a minor in Creative Media Production. I’ve lived across Thailand, Singapore, Virginia, and Florida, and growing up in those different places–immersed in different cultures, environments, and perspectives–shaped how I see the world and approach creative work today.
At my foundation, I’m a graphic designer working across branding, editorial, typography, UI/UX, and visual systems. Alongside design, I direct and edit films, and I’m deeply interested in how story, pacing, and emotion carry across different media. One of my film posters was recognized and nominated for Best Poster Art by the 48 Hour Film Project: Oklahoma City, an experience that pushed me further into exploring the space where film and design meet.
I also work as an actress and model, which has changed the way I think about composition, presence, and emotion—both behind and in front of the camera. And outside of the studio, I’m a mixologist and tea/coffee enthusiast, drawn to hospitality, ritual, and the intentional design of experiences that make people feel welcome and connected.
At the core of everything I do is intentionality. I’m drawn to work that feels thoughtful, honest, and unconstrained by conventional walls—where every detail serves a purpose, and every project leaves room for curiosity, connection, and different perspectives.
When I’m Not Creating
Outside of my professional work, I stay creatively engaged through curiosity, movement, and everyday rituals:
• Learning new instruments & writing music, using sound as another form of storytelling
• Spending time outdoors and exercising, especially rock climbing, hiking, and yoga
• Experimenting in the kitchen—cooking, baking, and developing new recipes and ideas
• Drinking matcha, often as a slow, intentional start to the day
• Going to the theater, with a deep appreciation for film, live theater, musicals, and dance
How I Show Up
• Approachable & communicative, creating ease and clarity in collaboration
• Organized & observant, attentive to both details and the bigger picture
• Calm, patient, and flexible, especially in fast-moving or uncertain environments
• Supportive, respectful, and accepting, valuing people as much as process
• Creative and perceptive, with a strong intuition for tone, rhythm, and flow
• Traveling, drawn to new environments, cultures, and ways of seeing
Creativity, for me, doesn’t turn off—it shifts form.
